The
Autostar does not have a graphic interface. PC or PDA
have a graphic interface to do point and click. If I
don't feel like to take the 6 lb note book computer
with me, I would just use the 6oz Palm OS PDA. Even
thought the PDA screen is considerably smaller then
the PC screen, it is still a very nice interface to
work with. I use the stylus to do the point and click
and the telescope points to the target object.
The
ETX/Autostar must be aligned properly prior to use with
the PDA for it to work properly.
I
would play the PDA during the day to see what the sky
would look like.
The
software is Planetarium. An easy to use shareware. Planetarium
work with all Palm OS PDA. There are other Palm OS PDA
not made by Palm.
