Meade
T-64 camera adapter & Nikon camera
for my ETX-125EC ETX-90EC Telescope
Meade
T-64 camera adapter
The
Meade T-64 has 2 sections. You can be use the
short piece only or both the long and short piece
together. . However, you may not use the long
piece by itself. The Meade T-64 is for Meade ETX-125EC,
ETX-90EC and ETX-105EC only.
Nikon
FM camera body
All
my film cameras and lenses are Nikon brand. I
have two Nikon 6006 body. I cannot use the Nikon
6006 body with the ETX telescopes because Nikon
6006 does not have the facility for the manual
shutter extension cable. This mean I will have
to have another camera body if I want to do astro-photography.
I found this used Nikon FM on ebay for a very
good price. Nikon FM is a totally manual camera.
It does have an LED exposure meter.
T-ring
for Nikon
The
T-ring for the Nikon camera is purchased separately.
The T-ring allow the T-64 adapter to connect to
the Nikon camera body.
The
camera look perfectly normal with the Meade ETX-125EC.
The Meade ETX-125EC telescope does not need to
be balanced with the camera with the Meade T-64
adapter attached. The DEC lock on the Meade ETX-125EC
provide enough "braking" power for the
camera-telescope to stay where it suppose to.
The camera with the Meade T-64 aattached looks
rediculousely out of balance on the Meade ETX-90EC.
The DEC lock on the Meade ETX-90EC does not provide
enough "braking" power and become rear
heavy. I have heard people actually break the
small brass screw of the DEC lock knob.
