bought this telescope for my son. After my horrible
experience in the early 1980's with the Celestron telescope,
I really see no reason to buy a non-motorized telescope.
It is just so much easier with the slew motors and Autostar.
This
telescope was purchase used on ebay. Everything was
sloppy when I first put it together. I went through
an entirely different learning process on using DS telescopes.
As usual, I took the scope apart and tighten up everything.
This
telescope is amazingly accurate in GOTO with the 494
Autostar. After proper leveling of the tripod and 2
star alignment, 90% target star will appear in the viewfinder.
It is as accurate as my ETX-90EC.
