Meade
#497 and #494 Autostar hand-held computer controllers
provides the GOTO ability for my Meade telescopes. I
have three Meade 497 Autostar computer controllers for
the three telescopes that I have: ETX-125EC, ETX-90EC
and DS-60EC.
The
Meade 497 computer controllers are dedicated to its
telescopes and are not itnterchanged. Each Meade 497
computer controllers are set and trained for the specific
Meade ETX telescope. I keep each of the Meade 497 telescopes
updated with the latest version of firmware wheneven
it came out from Meade. Each Meade
Meade
494 Autostar is for the DS-60EC and is used by my son.
The 494 Autostar hand-held computer controller is not
as easy to use then the meade 497 Autostar because it
does not have the number keys. I like to keep one just
for reference and I don't have to let my son to play
my my Meade 497 Autostars.
